Faced with a uninviting façade, Spear Street Capital, LLC aimed to open their high-rise office property visually to the street and create a welcoming experience for tenants and guests upon arrival. Wright Heerema Architects and Spear Street collaborated to achieve these goals, reimagining the exterior and interior of 500 W. Monroe, drawing inspiration from the clients branding and the flow of the Chicago River.
Passersby are greeted by a visually striking curved glass design, promoting a sense of openness and welcoming guests from the outside looking in. Strategic lighting illuminates the space. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a new hospitality desk, fostering interaction between the building staff and tenants.
The lobby blends modern aesthetics and organic elements, thoughtfully crafted to align with the client’s vision of a connected and inviting environment. As tenants step outside their typical offices, they embrace the communal areas provided. Floor-to-ceiling windows optimize natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere that uplifts occupants and fosters well-being. Featured technology bars seamlessly integrate modern amenities with comfortable furnishings, offering an environment conducive to both productivity and relaxation.
